Babe Station is an evolving art and research project exploring the relationship between making art and the maternal experience. Founded by writer Millie Walton, it aims to promote and support the work of any person who self-identifies as a mother through workshops, talks, exhibitions and live events.

Who do we mean when we say ‘mother’?

We view the role of the mother as expansive and evolving, including those who adopt, foster, use a surrogate, are the non-birthing mother within a Queer relationship, are step mothers, or have experienced child loss and/or infertility.

How do I get involved?

We regularly run open calls for our exhibitions and Babe Station Live events, which are posted on the website and Instagram. We also have a rolling open call for our ‘Introducing’ series on Instagram, where we feature the work of an artist-mother from any discipline each week.

If you’d like to collaborate with Babe Station, commission us to host an event, design a workshop, or curate an exhibition at your venue, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that Babe Station is currently self-funded and run by a very small team. While we do our best to respond promptly, it may take us a little time to get back to you. If you've been waiting a while, please feel free to give us a nudge.
